First off, I have to say, it feels really good to be home! There is something about eating food from your own fridge, relaxing on your own couch, not worrying about whether you have another pair of clean socks to wear... I think 10 days away was the perfect amount of time for both of us. I'll probably only get through the first few days on this post!
Italy was amazing... I loved it. After being in Rome, I would say it's definitely a must-see... but I am glad that we spent the first half of the trip on the coast. It was cool to see a few different parts of the country. We flew into Naples and headed straight down to Amalfi. The train ride was a bit uncomfortable (standing, squished against lots of other people in 90 degree weather!) but once we got on the bus from Sorrento to Amalfi, we enjoyed the scenery. Here's some of the first photos I took from my window seat:
Needless to say, the moment I saw that ocean, I was so excited! We had an early flight, so by the time we had landed in Italy, got our train from Naples to Sorrento, and our bus arrived in Amalfi, it was about 3 pm. We quickly put on our bathing suits and went down for a swim in the sea. (the water was so warm, you could stay in for hours!) These next photos are from our first full day on the Amalfi Coast.
Probaby around 8 am. Bathing suit on. I was ready to go!
Niall and I enjoying our first Italian cappuccinos at breakfast in the hotel. The coffee was one of my favorite things, definitely the best I've ever had!
Our breakfast table was literally on the edge of a cliff! Here's what it looked like down below:

The white building above is the hotel where we ate breakfast.
Niall exploring the coast, while I'm soaking up some much needed sun :)
Awkward self-timer shot...
It was nearly 500 steps hiking back up to the main road from the beach. Our legs were burning by the end of it! Besides miles and miles of walking, that's about the only workout we did.
Amalfi is a cool little place-- very touristy, but understandably so! The views were just breathtaking. There were a lot of Italian people there too that I think were also on holiday. Here's some pictures taken in the centre of town.
We sat down to eat at this little place and a band came and played live music.
Amalfi at night... took this walking back to our hotel. It really is a small little town.
I had a feeling this would happen... I only covered day 1! I have to go get some things in the mail so I'm going to stop there. Hope you enjoyed it. Maybe I'll let Niall do the next one... he is usually faster and funnier than me. :) Bye for now!
